Who is eligible to apply for the scholarship?
High school seniors who are graduating this year and have been accepted into a trade school, college, or university are eligible. You must submit proof of acceptance and meet the scholarship requirements listed on the application page.
What does the $500 scholarship cover?
The scholarship is intended to help cover the cost of college textbooks and required course materials during your first year of college.
How many scholarships are awarded each year?
Two $500 scholarships are awarded annually.
When is the scholarship application deadline?
Applications are typically due the second week of April. Check the scholarship page for this year’s exact deadline.
When do applicants receive notice of an award decision?
Applicants will be notified of our final decision on or before the third week of May.
Is the Rashawn D.E. Allen Memorial Foundation a 501(c)(3) nonprofit?
No. The Foundation is not a registered 501(c)(3). Contributions are not tax-deductible but go directly to funding scholarships and legacy projects.
How are donations used?
100% of donations support scholarships and youth-focused initiatives that align with Rashawn’s legacy of service, mentorship, and impact.
Can I sponsor a scholarship in someone else’s name?
Yes. We welcome named sponsorships. Please use the contact form to inquire about the process.
Rashawn was a U.S. Marine, student, mentor, and passionate mechanic who tragically lost his life in 2020. This foundation honors his memory by uplifting others.
